Monel 400/R-405

Description: A Nickel-Copper alloy with high strength, excellent corrosion resistance and toughness over a wide temperature range. Highly resistant to corrosion by chlorinated solvents, Glass-Etching agents, Sulphuric acidical and most alkalies. Can be useful in oxidising atmoshpheres to 1000F. 405 is similar to 400 with sulphur added to improve machinability.

Applications: Valves, Pumps, Pump and propellor shafts, Marine fixtures, Electrical and Electronic components, Process equipment, Petroleum refining and production equipment, Heat Exchangers.

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION(%): Nickel: min. 63; Copper: 28 - 34; Aluminium: max. 0.5; Manganese: max.1.25; Iron: 1 - 2.5 Titanium: max 0.2; Carbon: max. 0.15
